FAQ

What threats does the Level II HG1 Soft Armor protect against?

The RTS Tactical Relentless Soft Armor NIJ 0101.06 Level II HG1 Insert is designed to protect against common handgun threats, including:

• 9mm Luger (FMJ, RN)
• .357 Magnum (JSP, JHP)

This armor meets the NIJ Level II / HG1 standard, providing reliable ballistic protection while maintaining flexibility and lightweight comfort.

Can this armor be used as a standalone solution, or does it need to be worn inside a plate carrier?

The RTS Tactical Relentless Soft Armor Insert is designed to be used inside a soft armor vest. It is shaped for a precise fit within RTS Tactical vests and other compatible carriers, ensuring optimal coverage and comfort.

While this insert provides standalone ballistic protection, it is intended to be worn inside a vest for proper positioning and maximum effectiveness.

Is this soft armor flexible enough for all-day wear?

Absolutely. The RTS Tactical Relentless Soft Armor Insert is designed for all-day comfort and mobility. Made with high-performance Kevlar®️ and precision-stitched for flexibility, it contours to the body, allowing unrestricted movement without sacrificing protection.

Whether you're on duty, training, or in a high-threat environment, this soft armor ensures long-lasting comfort without the bulk of traditional armor solutions.

Is the armor waterproof or resistant to moisture?

Yes, the RTS Tactical Relentless Soft Armor Insert is moisture-resistant and built to withstand harsh conditions. It features a Diamond RipStop Nylon outer shell, which provides weatherproof protection against moisture, sweat, and environmental elements.

This durable outer layer helps prevent water absorption, ensuring the armor maintains its integrity, longevity, and ballistic performance even in challenging conditions.

Where is this soft armor manufactured?

The RTS Tactical Relentless Soft Armor Insert is proudly made in the USA, specifically in Miami, Florida. Each insert is constructed using high-quality Kevlar®️, sewn, and sealed under strict quality control standards to ensure superior performance, durability, and reliability.

How long does soft armor last? What is the shelf life of this insert?

The RTS Tactical Relentless Soft Armor Insert has a 5-year shelf life, which is the industry standard for soft armor. To maximize its lifespan, we recommend storing it in a cool, dry place and regularly inspecting it for any signs of wear or damage.

Proper care and handling will ensure that your armor continues to provide reliable ballistic protection throughout its service life.

Can this soft armor be used in conjunction with hard armor plates?

Yes, the RTS Tactical Relentless Soft Armor Insert can be paired with our ICW (In Conjunction With) hard armor plates for enhanced protection against higher-caliber threats. When used together, this combination provides a multi-layered defense while maintaining comfort and mobility.

For the best protection setup, we recommend pairing this soft armor insert with RTS Tactical ICW plates, ensuring a balance of flexibility and stopping power based on your mission needs.

Can this soft armor be washed or cleaned?

To clean the RTS Tactical Relentless Soft Armor Insert, use a damp cloth to wipe it down. Do not machine wash, submerge in water, or use harsh chemicals, as this can compromise the integrity of the ballistic materials.

For best results, store the armor in a dry, well-ventilated area and inspect it regularly to ensure optimal performance.

Is this soft armor visible when worn under clothing?

When paired with the right vest, the RTS Tactical Relentless Soft Armor Insert can be worn discreetly with no visible print. Its thin, flexible design allows for comfortable concealed wear under clothing, making it an ideal choice for covert operations, executive protection, and everyday use.

For the best concealment, we recommend using it with an RTS Tactical low-profile carrier designed for discreet protection.

Is this soft armor legal for civilian ownership?

Yes, the RTS Tactical Relentless Soft Armor Insert is legal for civilian ownership in most states. However, laws and regulations vary, so we strongly recommend that customers check their state and local laws before purchasing.

RTS Tactical complies with all applicable regulations and does not sell body armor to restricted areas.
