Under updated NIJ terminology, Level II is replaced by HG1 protection, while Level IIIA is replaced by HG2 protection. This helps users compare legacy threat levels with newer performance standards.

A Level II ballistic shirt with HG1 protection is designed for select handgun threats in a light, flexible soft armor shirt.
